Contract voting took place Friday and will resume Monday. I voted no. Like I said I would. I look at the list of givebacks and thats all this union negotiated the city won -won. I will tell you it will pass . Everyone was worried about arbitration well you did not need the arbitrator to take your benefits YOU gave them up because a great salesman sold you on fear. Eight months ago arbitration was the next best thing to sliced bread, what happened ? Every single union in this city rejected this HSA garbage. but we took it. Well good luck you better hope the OT is not going to dry up because you will need it to pay the med bills that were covered under the present agreement. After this I am not going to say another word about this contract but I will wait one year and see just how happy you will be then. . You look over the list of give ups you decide for yourself. Lets see who gets what after this is done. I would have took zeros across the board. Once again they slipped it under the door. I need CHRO representation and I cant get it unless the union president ok s it. Well I can tell you from past experience I will be going it alone. Whats ironic my tax dollars are paying the city legal cost to the attorney from Hartford and I cant get any representation unless I pay for it myself. Then you tell me the scales of justice are even. Not likely ! Not when the city has the money , my money to pay for representation and my union leaves me in the cold. Whats the legal fund for ? To look at ! I am a Non conformist and will die that way. I want to be the sheep herder not the sheep. Take it for what its worth- its worth a lot .
