Contribute $20.00 to Defeat the Tea Party and its Allies Dear UCubed Leaders: In the beginning – that would be 2010 - the Union of the Unemployed was as small as small could be. A couple of people. A few computers. An assignment from a major labor union - the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers - to reach out via social media to the many thousands of former members who had fallen victim to the Great Bush-Cheney Recession. And a deep faith that, if we issued via the internet a call to action to Americas NOT working class, people would respond. Did they? Hell, yes. We heard from everyone - people who were unemployed or who had been unemployed or feared that they soon would be unemployed. And others - many others – whod been forced to take cuts in pay, hours and benefits. During the 2012 election, our humorous and factual BEE MAD @ THE GOP campaign went right after the Republican Party. In the final 13 weeks of that campaign, we were reaching an average of 813,000 folks a day, many of them in key swing states like Florida, Ohio and Virginia. And now? In the most recent 28-day period for which Facebook has figures, UCubed reached 11 million folks in the United States - and a couple of million more overseas. As the song goes, Something’s happening here... A whole lot of people in this country are fighting mad. And UCubed has hit critical mass. But dont tell the Republicans. They have the idea that unemployed Americans are drug-addled (Orrin Hatch, R-Utah), all-caught-up in some kind of weird inner city thing (Paul Ryan, R-WI) or just plain lazy (Newt Gingrich, R-Mars). This fall, were going after them where they live. Well be going all out to grow UCubed everywhere, including in the red states and red districts - especially in districts currently represented by the obnoxious fanatics of the Tea Party Movement.
