Controlling your tongue to perfection : The human tongue is only a few inches from the brain, but when you listen to some people talk, they seems to be miles apart. Have you imagined the root cause of rift in relations is due to a muscle who does more workout than anything else? Come on could you imagine it lacks any framework of bones still its has been told that an average person speaks enough words to publish a book comprising of 500 pages. Cuts on the flesh can heal in a matter of time but the words pierced deep inside can take infinite ages to cure. James 1:26 says that If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, then one’s religion is useless. Its a blind faith and its funny for folks who submit their life to Jesus avoiding their tongue from the submission procedure. Proverbs 18:21 says The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Tongue has got the power of life and death, your words can mold a depressed heart or can rot a joyful heart. Words we send out can store up treasures for us in heaven or can dig our graves deep in hell. Its clear and well known that unrepentant sin cuts off the flow of God’s answers to their prayers. Those who have a wide mouth opening mouth syndrome will find everything lacking at their ends when seeking God’s help to their problems. Word of God says “If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear” Psalms 66:18. Devil has always his eye-balls out in search of such people who have undisciplined and a drunken tongue which can open wherever possible at ease to bring discomfort to him as well as people around him. Paul warned believers to restrict any corrupt or worthless talk to come from our mouth. Only the things which lift-up, encourage, and are gracious should be expressed to others. “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers” Ephesians 4:29. God provides a long and blessed life opportunity to those who are able to guard their tongue from poking the evil. “Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit” Psalms 34:12-13. Believe me children of God, the one who can gossip about others to you, can gossip about you to others. Word of God teaches that those who desire to dwell in the presence of God and to taste the sweetness of his blessings are those who have pledge to live their life righteously and they will never and ever backbite or badmouth others. God has given us two ears, but one tongue, to show that we should be swift to hear, but slow to speak. God has set a double fence before the tongue, the teeth and the lips, to teach us to be wary that we offend not with our tongue. Till the people learn it they go deaf, they loose their fencing with their ages. Scripture tells us to repent, but repentance does not mean to repeat our former sins. Since mouth sins really allocate inside the heart hence it requires a cleansing within. As we read Psalms 51:10 we know about David’s desire that “ Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, 0 LORD, my strength and my Redeemer” Psalms 19:14, Only occurs when you desire and realise that your tongue needs a little brush-up then seek his forgiveness and allow him to take care of the attitude towards your heart and a better control to your mouth, so it will be pleasing to him.
