Converse 2 - Barton 0 The Valkyries picked up a vital conference win against Barton tonight. Georgia Jones picked up both goals for the purple and gold. The first goal by Jones was a volley after fine play by Ritchie. On the second, the English native put the ball away after a dangerous corner from Johnson. Barton put some pressure on near the end but the Valkyries held out for the win. Coach Constable stated, “ I felt we played well for long periods in the game but then perhaps at other times our passing could have been a little more accurate and sharper. Overall though, this is a big conference win against a good team. I am proud of our team. It is very pleasing to see how far we have come over the past couple of years. We must now look forward and prepare properly for the Chowan game that kicks off in 15 hours!” MVP’S – Georgia Jones and Bethany Spivey. Constable stated on the pair – “ Spivey was rock solid and Georgia does what Georgia always does and that is, she scores big goals, at big moments, in big games”. GO VALKYRIES!!!
