Cooperative Development Services will convene a full day of conversation about co-ops in Sacramento on March 8, 2014. The 2014 Cooperative Cafe will explore how we can harness the power of participation to help move our co-ops forward. The Cooperative Cafe is a format for focused conversations that advance our thinking, build shared understanding, and create alignment. The day is highly interactive with brief presentations and guided exchanges that offer co-op leaders a how-to for cultivating similar involvement in their local communities. The Cooperative Cafe is for everyone involved in creating and sustaining a development culture at your co-op. The Cooperative Cafe connects local co-op leaders to a national dialogue about the future for food co-ops. Being in the conversations at the Cooperative Cafe will improve the conversations back home…in board meetings, retreats, management team meetings, and everyday discussions with members, staff, and community. If you have not attended the Cooperative Cafe, now is the perfect opportunity to take part in a conversation about the impact greater participation has in your community. If you attended in 2012 or 2013, come back for a new theme, different questions, and fresh conversations. There is an additional cost per person of $50 to cover meals and incidentals.
