Cop sets lover ablaze............ MAHBUBNAGAR: A constable brutally murdered a tribal woman and set her body ablaze in Nallamala forest area after promising to marry her. The incident took place at Killaghanpur village of Mahbubnagar district. According to Wanaparthy DSP B Srinivas Reddy, constable K Mallesh, 25, of Killaghanpur police station developed illicit relationships with a married woman a year ago and forced her to desert her husband. Believing Mallesh, the woman came out of the wedlock with the hope that he would marry her. They have been living together as partners and when the woman demanded that he marry her, Mallesh took her to Nallamala forests on the pretext of visiting the Srisailam temple for marriage. Once inside the forest, Mallesh killed her. Though the incident took place 25 days ago, it came to light on Thursday after Mallesh confessed to the crime. Mallesh told the police that he was planning to marry another woman. The victim was four months pregnant. TOI
