Copa Del Ray Round 2 (1st Leg) Full Time Atletico Madrid 2-0 Real Madrid POST MATCH ANALYSIS Real Madrid started off very well and played with great intensity in the starting 20 minutes and kept on playing well against a compact defense of Atletico.They wanted to sit bacm and defend n hit Real Madrid on counters and unluckily they got what they wanted.Real Madrid had all the possession today and created many chances too but couldnt apply finishing touches to them.Apart from Sergio Ramos 1st minute free header which he couldnt direct away from the goalkeeper, Bale had the most significant chances today. DEFENDING: Reals defense wasnt good tonight,Sergio Ramos conceded a very very silly penalty! And then we conceded another goal from a set piece.Conceding 2 goals in 2 matches from a corner and both goals were headed from pretty much the same area.So What is Real Madrid missing while defending corners when we have tall players like Ronaldo, Bale,Varane,Ramos,Khedira,Benzema? That remains a mystery,perhaps it was just hardluck. MIDFIELD: Our midfield had Isco, Kroos,Khedira and James today and honestly all of them played really really well. ATTACK: Ronaldo didnt start today. Real created sufficient chances if not many but both Bale as well as Benzema werent sharp enough to make something happen in tight spaces of Atleticos defense tonight. If Atletico scores at the Bernabeu then it would be pretty much game over for Real Madrid so Ancelotti needs to carve a strategy down to not only score 3 goals but also to keep a clean sheet if Real Madrid wants to progress to the next round. I must appreciate Real Madrid and Ancelotti for preparing well for this match right after the defeat against Valencia a few days back.Its never easy to leave the memories of a bad day behind.Especially if your next match is an away fixture against the cross city rivals in a very hostile environment.We should keep believing in our players,they gave us happy days,made us proud by 22 straight victories and now we need to stand by them n be their strength. #WinLoseOrTieMadridistaTillIDie! #HalaMadrid! #AsifHassan
