Cops in Bangor were busy last night. An OUI roadblock netted 5 arrests for drunk or drugged driving. Before I hear from the peanut gallery about chasing down hard core criminals instead of stopping innocent people trying to go about their business without police interference, stop! That gets so old, so fast. I have been caught up in two OUI roadblocks in the last year. Both times I was sober of course. The police officers had me on my way in less than 30 seconds. Sgt Jason Stuart and his group did a great job and could have saved the life of one of your innocent friends or loved ones. We think that is a great job. Now, my rant continues. If you are going to get a pet, how about being responsible. Our animal control officer Trish Bruen is so busy that it is tough to keep up with calls that many times are the result of bad decisions by pet owners. Dogs in cars on hot days etc. When Bruen is off, it takes police officers to do those things. I think most people, as well as most cops, love animals and dont like to see them suffer. Last night Sgt. Kevin hello kitties MacLaren and Officer Ben I know I saw a puddytat Paradis pulled off Operation: Wow, thats a bunch of cats. Someone left 13 cats and kittens alone and without food, water or litter boxes. We call that abandonment, among other things. A concerned citizen notified the police department and the operation was on. The felines are now at the Humane Society and if you are looking for a cat; it appears the 2014 models will be ready soon. Thanks guys, for all you do. Have a great weekend everyone. We will be here!
