Corruption this, corruption that. Its like this is the wall we could never get over. We constantly bash our head against it as if nothing else is important. Apart from perhaps the reign of Cory and Ramos, every administration has been afflicted by the stain of corruption including Marcos. It takes over the public discourse. There is no other agenda but Corruption. We cant move forward because we are held back time and again by it. And time passes and we are left by the wayside dealing with a gash, a character flaw that come to think of it afflicts other countries too. We really dont have a monopoly on Corruption. Other countries also go through it. If By the People is a Universal truth, Buy the People is its Bizarro twin. We need not be so consumed by its toxins and poisons. But what really causes it? Why cant we simply just fix it? To fix corruption is to look at the heart of who we are as a people and what we have allowed ourselves to be. Take a look at two proponents of Democracy and what they have to say about the Big C. I am sick and tired of listening to the same old thing. Its like this demon, this gopher that just keeps appearing. It is time for fundamental change in this land or die trying.
