Cosmetic Industry Lesson 101: Always remember the worst thing you can do is burn a bridge. This is a VERY SMALL industry. The person you work with today is a VP of something tomorrow. That person that gives you an opportunity today, could be the person you work for again in 5 years. Professionalism and respect are the keys in this industry. Not every brand nor every retailer is right for every person----and that is ok....but how you enter and exit will mean everything in your career. If you dont think we all talk to each other--- you are kidding yourself. There will come a day where you look around and realize---there is no where left to go that you have not left a history. Then what??? Build your name on effort, work ethic, respect and professionalism.....and you will have a job in any city with any brand. Burn bridges....good luck.....it will smolder for a loooooong time. I was blessed with incredible mentors and teachers in this industry at a very young age. My passion and drive for the business led me to incredible opportunities. My networking and relationships have delivered oppotunity after opportunity in many cities/countries with many companies. I could move anywhere tomorrow and have a network that would help me locate a job. When you drive a business, your passionate and you work hard....you will build a reputation that will take care of you for life.
