Could it be that Russias recent pipeline diplomacy with Turkey is paying off and may bring positive dividends for Syria?: Turkey welcomed consultations between Russia and Syrian opposition in Moscow, which aims to resume talks in 2015 to end the long-running conflict, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Monday. All relevant parties should be included in the process. No country should be isolated. Russia and Iran should be part of the efforts, Cavusoglu said at a joint press conference with visiting Kazakhstans Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov. Stumbling blocks remain, of course, namely over the fact that Turkey recognized Syrian National Coalition (SNC) as the representative of the Syrian opposition, but nonetheless, it appears to be a step in the right direction.
