Couldnt have been happier with my Stormhawk pups as I was yesterday. I should say yesterday AFTER their first run that is.... LOL After a Siberian or sled dog has been in harness for the first time, they are different in so many ways. Since we began just three short years ago, my once well behaved, good babies have become total nut cases when they arrive at a destination with other sled dogs, and the scent of a new trail. We pulled in as the hard working volunteers were getting the fundraiser run all set up, and they took ONE look at the gorgeous Prophetstown Park and lost their little minds. Now, had we been at a race, I wouldnt have paid any mind to their wild howling and Pax yelling. LOL But these were nice people LOL I should say folks with behaved dogs. As I was shirking into the drivers seat, my upper hearing registers beginning to go numb, I wondered what my guys were saying to the other Northern Breeds there. I think all four of my dogs had different things to tell them, but the one thing they ALL were saying was :Tell your human to MUSH!!!!! Sort of like the drug dealer on the corner with the Try it, youll like it hook. LOL And truly it IS addictive, just as addictive as these Arctic Breeds are themselves. Once you see your snow pup, feeling that first hit of pulling, the harness against their shoulders, their ears up looking down the trail to that first hard turn, well - there is no way but to feel as they do. You can hear them say to on one in particular: Wait, you mean I get to run, as much and as fast as I want, and you are ENCOURAGING me to DO SO???? LOL BAHAHAHAHAHA And off they go, bringing you along for the ride. Nothing finer. I am proud to say that several more pups got measured for their first harnesses, and we were able to hook a few more people, AND some of the rescues in the Northern Lights Available Book had INTEREST! Talk about a win-win situation. I thank the Divine for allowing me such an amazing day with the best people, the greatest intentions and FAB PUPPY DOGS!!
