Countdown: 50 songs of the last millennium. (I think my song post got lost in the details which preceded the same, particularly the youtube link to the film I had mentioned. Re-posting it without the link.) An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge is a short which had moved me immensely The Civil war background, the build-up to the execution, the man on the run (or the swim), the passion to live, the frenetic desire to meet a lady, and the shocking climax kind of mesmerized me when I saw it first in 1988 at JU Many things invaded my mind. Was the woman his wife? Or his girlfriend? Or maybe someone else? Did he have a family? Maybe he had lots to tell? Untold stories - of alienation, imprisonment, pain, humiliation, suffering, agony..... Which no one would ever know as he was not there any more to tell. Or to defend. This climax of the film was one of my questions in yesterday’s quiz and I loved it when it was answered by a bright young quizzer Bedbyas Datta My thoughts pertaining to the film reminded me of a song which I have missed in the 50 book. Of untold stories. Maybe this could have been the story of Rajesh Khanna as well. He was so edgy with his misaligned vision of power and stardom that he never really could express what he actually needed to…. https://youtube/watch?v=PleWU2pdK-I I realize it is Rajesh Khanna’s birthday today. Be happy wherever you are……
