Countdown to Christmas day 9. Todays song is in honor of the 50th anniversary of the animated special Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. It has always been a favourite of mine since I was a kid. Here is some interesting info about the cartoon that is linked to nearby City of Toronto. Originally airing in 1964 the animations were filmed in Japan, the entire soundtrack for Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer was recorded in a studio near Yonge Street. Voices included Rudolph: Billie Mae Richards also provided the voice for Smoothie Bear in a series of animated commercials for Kraft Peanut Butter. Paul Soles, who later did voices for the Spiderman cartoons as Hermey, and former CHUM DJ and actor Larry Mann as Yukon Cornelius
