Couple quick reminders for the upcoming week... Fruit orders are due to Mr. Linko no later than Wednesday. A big congratulations goes out to Kayla Hubbs and Kyle Youmans for being selected to the 2013 OMEA District V Honors Band! The will be performing at Stambaugh Auditorium with students from all over the Ohio Valley at approximately 1:30 on Saturday November 23rd. The concert is free, and I hope that all of you can make it to support your fellow students at this exciting and important event! The Christmas Concert is scheduled for Saturday December 7th. The time is TBA pending my receipt of the basketball schedule. and lastly, to help our students improve their cognitive and writing skills, (and their musicianship!!) we are going to be starting a new practice journal program. This 9 weeks I will be testing it with the high school band, with hopes of moving it into high school choir, junior high band, and junior high choir by the end of the year. Students will be asked to write a reflection on their practicing for the week and what they feel they have learned through that practice. Journals will be submitted online through a Google Form, (paper versions will be available).
