This course will concentrate on financial and legal aspects that support professional nursing practice. It deals with the concepts on financial management, cost containment, and legal issues relating to nursing administration. Likewise, it includes basics in budgeting, health care system, and the integration of leadership roles and management functions in fiscal planning. The student will analyze and synthesize various concepts in financial management and the pertinent laws that governs it. Application of the various aspects in finance will be explored, as well as the importance of the governing laws and application of financial nursing administration to education, research and clinical practice.
