Court acquits man of setting citizens car on fire The Criminal court presided over by Judge Hesham Al-Abdullah acquitted an individual who works as assistant engineer at the Kuwait International Airport of setting on fire a vehicle belonging to a Kuwaiti citizen in Shuwaikh industrial area. According to the case files the officer in charge of the case testified that the suspect assisted another individual in setting the plaintiffs car on fire over a financial dispute. The damages made to the vehicle were specified in the technical report attached with the case files. The suspect had a previous criminal record when he was sentenced to ten years imprisonment with hard labor. The defense lawyer said the accusations against his client lacked elements of crime associated with the use of arson, stressing that the lack of substantial evidence was the basis on which he requested the accusation was fabricated and the investigation was mishandled.
