Covering the Greenwood School for my friends out there Im titling this segment Leaves of a Tree; The Greenwood Boys We had an enormously successful year in 2013 make no mistake about it, but the bitter disappointment of the ending stayed with me. So I decided that day to begin talking about how I was going to come back. I just tried to take the negative energy and turn it into a positive by trying to have the best summer break that I could possibly have. If you really want a starting point to look at the 2014 Greenwood boys, you really have to begin on August 25th, 2013. I set up a phone call with a bunch of returning students that year to begin talking about how we were going to come back. That opportunity, to have that call, gave us a second chance, a reboot, a do-over. That call was really the catalyst, and the first sign of an implementation of a different approach started in camp Greenwood. We were particularly committed to putting ourselves back on a better track, to build as strong a team as we could that would represent us well in and out of school. To help change the culture, Greenwood brought in a number of new students, characters, with character. To have the chance to come back here this year after such a rough year was not only humbling, but also a challenge. Everybody just kinda embraced the challenge and got on board. I think it was apparent from day one this year that the selections that Stewart and the admissions people made, made a tremendous difference in our community, in school and out of school. There was a not so quiet determination among those students. They certainly had a world of talent, and there are other schools with equivalent talent, but this group of students came together in the beginning of the year at camp Greenwood, and they genuinely liked each other. Right when we got to camp I think there was an instant connection with guys that were going to enjoy working with each other and playing with each other---playing together and being around one another---these boys beyond to bond, becoming close knit, by avoiding close shaves. Just a little about Greenwood
