~ Crafty Kids Workshop ~ Last Wednesday saw us hold our 5th day of Crafty Kids Workshops at the Cowra Neighbourhood Centre. Numbers of children and volunteers have increased steadily since our 1st workshop - having had only 9 children to 4 (from memory) helpers, to having 23 children with 7 helpers last Wednesday..... and that didnt include the 4 children and 2 helpers who advised they were unable to attend at the last minute. We really are attracting quite a gathering at our workshops now, and I can only see the interest increasing with each workshop. Once again, I am very grateful to our Chances Clothes Project volunteers - Jane Doolan, Dawn Evans, Michelle Coombes, Marijana Stojanovic, Carrie Simunic and Tracey Gunnyon. Without you gorgeous ladies, our local children would not have the opportunities to experience the many arts and crafts you share with them. We received an overwhelming surprise on Wednesday from 2 Coles employees Glenn and Karen, who brought over a trolley full of bags of apples, oranges and fruit platters for the kids, along with 48 bottles of water. What an awesome donation!!! Thank you Coles!! I would also like to gratefully acknowledge the contribution made by Mick n Jay of Cowra Community Rest Centre at Squire Park. Manager Rhonda Wren and her 2 volunteer assistants Mick Wren and Jaimey Howden (all CCP volunteers) provided us with delicious lunches for both days. Without Rhondas volunteers, she would not have been able to cater for our lunches. Photos will be with the Cowra Neighbourhood Centre tomorrow for distribution on Facebook. Keep an eye out for our beautiful kids and their creations!!! xx Nikki
