Crash kills White Sulphur man By Jessica Farrish / Register-Herald Reporter A collision in Greenbrier County Thursday morning killed a White Sulphur Springs man and injured his two passengers, Greenbrier officials said. About 6:45 a.m., 29-year-old Todd Rider of White Sulphur Springs was driving south on W.Va. 92 in a passenger vehicle when a northbound Chevrolet pick-up truck driven by Joshua Bostic, 23, also of White Sulphur Springs, crossed the center line and crashed head-on into Rider’s vehicle, according to Greenbrier Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Bruce Sloan. Rider was killed, Sloan said. Two passengers in Rider’s vehicle, William Van Buren, 24, of White Sulphur Springs and Michael Watkins, were injured. No age and residence was available for Watkins Thursday afternoon, Sloan said. Watkins was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center with serious injuries, and Van Buren was transported to another hospital for treatment of injuries, Sloan said. Bostic was not injured. “(Bostic) told the officer he was trying to avoid an animal,” said Sloan, adding the incident is still under investigation by Deputy T.C. Webber. The accident occurred around 13 miles north of White Sulphur Springs, according to official reports.
