Crates..... I personally believe in crates and crate training is important. Reasons why: Dogs need a quiet safe place they can call their own. Crating keeps a dog safe and home safe if left alone and the dog is a new rescue or a puppy etc. Also a very good reason to get a dog used to being in a crate, if sick and needs to be hospitalized, a dog used to a crate will be so much more relaxed then a dog never crated. Crates are a positive thing if done properly. It should never be looked upon as a negative. As a rescue we like are dogs crated if being left alone, especially puppies. Crates are there for safety, not only for the dogs but for your house. Most rescues, we have no history on. We dont know the type of home or training they have had. Crating is an excellent tool for house training. Please comment on your experience with crating, as more tips can help others.
