Crawfordsville Results HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (Aug 17, 2014) – The penultimate round of the 2014 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship Series was held at the latest addition to the circuit, Ironman MX in Crawfordsville, Ind. There has never been a pro national held in Indiana prior to this event. Ironic that the previous race was held at one of the oldest tracks on the circuit, Unadilla has held more than 40 pro nationals. MAVTV aired the first moto live, and the second moto was broadcast on the NBC Sports Network. Josh Grant returned to racing after recovering from a concussion he suffered at the Washougal round. For the first time this season the weather was a major factor. Heavy rain fell before qualifying transforming the course into a quagmire. Thankfully the rain stopped before the racing began, but not before major damage had been done. Justin Brayton and Grant both had problems right from the start, Brayton strained the MCL in his right leg trying to avoid a fallen rider in the first turn. Having recently recovered from an injury to his left MCL, he decided to retire from the moto rather than risk long-term injury due to the conditions. Grant began the moto in 39th position after being collected in a first turn pile up. Even after making two NASCAR style pit stops to get fresh Oakley goggles the determined Grant was able to make his way up to 12th position. By the time the second 450 moto began the track had improved, but was still treacherous. Grant gated well and started at the front of the field logging sixth after the opening lap was complete. He rode fast and steady finishing fifth. Grant’s 12 – five moto scores earned him eighth overall. The final round of the series will be held at Miller Motor Sports Park in Tooele, U.T. on Aug. 23. Justin Brayton is expected to be on the gate. MAVTV will broadcast the first moto live at 3:00 p.m. (EST), and promotocross will also stream moto one live. The second moto will stream live on promotocross and the NBC Sports Network will air the second moto at 6:30 p.m. (EST). ###
