Creator of Disabled Relation Group So my name is Duane Larsen I am 28 years old and I wasnt always disabled, I use to live the Able-Body life for 21 years. On November 22nd of 2007 (Thanksgiving Morning) I had got in a car accident driving fast and driving angry. I had came around a corner that I swore I could drive with a blindfold on. But obviously I couldnt lol... Anyway I took corner to fast and flipped my car 5 times I was the only one in the vehicle thank god! On the 3rd flip I went out the passenger window ass first my where my initial neck injury occurred. I hit the passenger door so hard my body bent the door out. The passenger door had hooked my legs and clothing to where on 4th roll I got body slammed and thrown by car the 5th and final flip/roll of car had then rolled over my lower half of my body. I stayed conscious during the entire accident. I had gotten up and walked 30 yards from the car but felt warmth running down my chest which is when I realized then my throat was slit open I put my hand up to my throat and literally realized my hand was in my throat, thats when I went into shock I had feel head first which is where I finished my neck injury. Thats where and when I kept blacking out. I was found and transported via helicopter to hospital where I had my surgeries and fixed up as much as the doctors could fix. I had a few strokes and ended up being put in a medical induced coma, till my body was at a stage where they could take me out of medical induced coma. Thats when I was told that I was I was a complete c4-c5 quadriplegic. The reason Im still alive is my son! He kept my heart and mind going when my body wanted to shut down, he still is and always will be my motivation to be a good father to get stronger and to help as many people as I can! That is the short sweet story of why am here and why I created this group.
