Creena says, Wrangler no longer wants to self-detonate and take me - TopicsExpress

Creena says, Wrangler no longer wants to self-detonate and take me with him! In all seriousness, this is a beautiful display of what the mustangs have taught us and why respect and patience is the most important virtue of the human. Ya see, Creena (Christina Flint), could have long ago forced the first touch and be competing by now or whatever us silly humans love to do with our four legged friends). Instead, she quickly noticed Wranglers lack of confidence upon the very first touch and started him on confidence training with as many obstacles as she could come up with. His Fave? The car wash. Once he gained confidence, Creena was able to gentle or establish trust within the buffer zone. Whats the buffer zone? Well, that is the space you must cover before the touch can occur. If you really think about it, the scary part for a mustang is NOT the first touch. Its the approach (or to a mountain lion - the attack!) that creates so much fear. If the mountain lion jumps up and starts loving on and massaging the horse - and it brings peace - or they do not die! Then thats not very scary is it? Watch how Christina reads Wranglers body language. She approaches when he is calm and releases when he accepts. These are the roots that allow our once wild ones to grow and makes the rest of the journey much more peaceful for both horse and human.
