Creepy medical story time. There this rare phenomenon which is sometimes called anesthetic awareness. When a patient is put under anesthesia and goes through this, their bodies are paralyzed, but they are alert and awake during surgery and could hear/feel everything. For example, a patient could feel a doctor sawing through their bones, cutting their flesh, and all these people can do is suffer through it. This happens also in normal sleep (sleep paralysis), where while the mind is awake, the body is paralyzed. And you can do anything about it. --Fox
