Creston junior Jay Wolfe wins the Class 3A 800 meters, just missing the state meet record by .05 seconds, running 1:53.79. Wolfe is Crestons first state champ since Mike Mansour in 1998, and the first ever in the 800 meters. Mount Ayrs Kyle Dolecheck and Noah Larsen went 1-2 in the Class 1A 800, with Nodaway Valleys TJ Bower finishing fourth. Those 18 points give the Raiders a commanding lead in the team standings with 55 points. Still plenty of points to be had for the Raiders as the rest of the day unfolds.
