Criminal record of our new Lok Sabha is worse than in 2009. 1) 34% of 2014 Lok Sabha members have criminal cases pending against them, up from 30% in 2009. 35% of BJP MPs, 18% of Congress MPs and 0% of AAP MPs have pending criminal cases. 2) 21% have serious criminal cases, up from 15% in 2009. 22% of BJP MPs, 7% of Congress MPs and 0% of AAP MPs have pending serious criminal cases. Serious criminal cases are non-bailable offenses such as murders, assault, kidnap, rape and crimes against women. 3) 9 MPs have Murder cases. Of these, 4 are in BJP (44%), 1 is in Congress, and zero in AAP. 4) 17 MPs have Attempt to Murder cases. Of these, 10 are in BJP (59%), 1 is in Congress and zero in AAP. 5) 16 MPs have Communal Disharmony cases. Of these, 12 are in BJP (75%), zero in Congress and zero in AAP.
