Criteria of God in Islam. What is your criteria to believe in anything as God? Quran says very clearly and it is very simple to understand what the pure definition of monotheism is. The four basic criteria to consider anything God . 1. Say (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)): He is Allah, (the) One God 2. Allah-us-Samad (The Self-Sufficient Master, Whom all creatures need, He neither eats nor drinks). 3. He begets not, nor was He begotten; 4. And there is none co-equal or comparable unto Him.[Quran 112:1-4] quran Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them.He is the Sublime(the greatest), the Tremendous(the highnest).[Quran 2:255] quran Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases, and whoever sets up partners with Allah in worship, he has indeed invented a tremendous sin.[4:48] quran This (Quran) is a Message for mankind (and a clear proof against them), in order that they may be warned thereby, and that they may know that He is the only One Ilah (God - Allah) - (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), and that men of understanding may take heed.[14:52] quran There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path.Whoever disbelieves in Taghoot(fasle gods) and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. Allah is the Walee (Protector or Guardian) of those who believe. He brings them out from darkness into light. But as for those who disbelieve, their Auliya (supporters and helpers) are Taghoot (false deities and false leaders, etc.), they bring them out from light into darkness. Those are the dwellers of the Fire, and they will abide therein forever.[2:256-257] quran And whoever disbelieved, let not his disbelief grieve you (O Muhammad SAW),. to Us(Allah) is their return, and We(Allah) shall inform them what they have done. Verily, Allah is the All Knower of what is in the breasts (of men). We let them enjoy for a little while, then in the end We shall oblige them to (enter) a great torment.]31:23-24] quran O mankind! it is you who stand in need of Allah, but Allah is Rich (Free of all wants and needs), Worthy of all praise. If He will, He could destroy you and bring about a new creation. And that is not hard for Allah. [ 35:15-17] quran And Musa (Moses) said: O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allahs Will). They said: In Allah we put our trust. Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimoon(polytheists and wrong-doing) (i.e. do not make them overpower us). And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk.[10:84-86] quran And among mankind is he who disputes concerning Allah, without knowledge, and follows every rebellious (disobedient to Allah) Shaitan (devil) (devoid of each and every kind of good). For him (the devil) it is decreed that whosoever follows him, he will mislead him, and will drive him to the torment of the Fire.[Quran 22:3-4] quran Whatever you worship, other than Him, are nothing but names you have coined, you and your fathers. Allah has sent down no authority for them. Sovereignty belongs to none but Allah. He has ordained that you shall not worship anyone but Him. This is the only right path. But most of the people do not know.”[Quran 12:40] quran Race one with another in hastening towards Forgiveness from your Lord (Allah), and towards Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of heavens and earth, prepared for those who believe in Allah and His Messengers(Adam,Noah,Abraham,..Moses, Jesus and Muhammad). That is the Grace of Allah which He bestows on whom He pleases. And Allah is the Owner of Great Bounty.[57:21] quran Say: If the mankind and the jinns were together to produce the like of this Quran, they could not produce the like thereof, even if they helped one another. And indeed We have fully explained to mankind, in this Quran, every kind of similitude, but most mankind refuse (the truth and accept nothing) but disbelief.[Quran 17:88-89] quran How can a Creator and his Son having Godly qualities depend on something created like food to stay alive? The Messiah (Iesa (Jesus)), son of Maryam (Mary), was no more than a Messenger; many were the Messengers that passed away before him. His mother (Maryam (Mary)) was a Siddiqah (i.e. she believed in the words of Allah(God) and His Books ). They both used to eat food (as any other human being, while Allah does not eat). Look how We(Allah) make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses,lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) clear to them, yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth).[Quran 5:75] quran
