Critical Thinking Warning: Did you know weve only been a Nation under god since 1954? Its true. The initial Pledge of Allegiance dating back to 1892 and all revisions up through the turn of the last Century and on into the Post-WWII era contained NO such under god nonsense. This such a wonky assumption wasnt added until a Jun, 1954 Amendment to the pledge came about as a result of then President Eisenhowers brainwashing by a certain Presbyterian minister during a service held on Abraham Lincolns birthday. A republican from Michigan introduced the bill literally the following day, and America bought it! LOL! This, of course, was at a time of heightened labeling and McCarthy era witch hunts for baby-eating communists in politics, movies, and music... and schools and institutions wanted nothing more than to filter out though-subverts and nonbelievers from the allegiance-pledging minions of god-fearing and true Americans. I do hope that my son will stand and pledge his allegiance to this great nation within the classrooms of his future, but unless he truly establishes that he is indeed a believer of some theological ideology, he leave outs the improvable claims amended-in in 1954 3:-)
