Critics of the President may assign a plethora of attributes to Barack Obama in an effort to explain his inability to positively effect the problems of the day. I suggest the problem lies with the fact that Obama was never in a position that required him to make decisions of consequence. He was unskilled at assimilating data, and using that information to make decisions that effected a critical mass of people. This would explain the perception of a President who dithers on every critical issue. Proceed throughout his Presidency. Decisions have been of personal political consequence as opposed to ensuring American security, fiscal solvency, and global stability. He drew a red line in Syria, then raised a white flag. He threatened consequences to a nuclear Iran, then went to a fund raiser. He watched Americans slaughtered in Iraq, then went to the golf course. Obama could do nothing to secure the Southern border from an onslaught of illegal immigrants. Now he delays, and may never stop those traveling to America from countries ravaged by ebola. He reads about scandals in the newspaper like everyone else, and does nothing to rectify them. Sure he permitted Seal Team 6 to kill Osama Bin Laden, but this did more to promote a political agenda than make the world a safer place. Leadership requires one to seek the consul of experts, evaluate information, and make difficult decisions. America deserves a President capable of making decisions of consequence for the benefit of the nation, oblivious to potential political peril. policylogic.blogspot
