Croak. That was a feeble, very deep croak--must have been produced by the oldest, feeblest frog in the swamp. Notice there is no exclamation mark with croak. Not enough voice to produce one. Sorry you havent been hearing from me. Ive hidden among the lily pads for the last couple of weeks. Two weeks ago tonight I began developing a scratchy throat. Got through Sunday okay, then downhill. Not flu, just chest congestion and then sore-throat very deep bass croak-level laryngitis. I know and used all the usually sure-fire natural remedies. I think I know them all. Drat! I forgot to put a horse hair under my plate while eating butter beans! Nothing worked, I couldnt kick it. Finally went to the doctor this week and got a shot and 5-day antibiotic regimen. Complete it tomorrow. Ive made a lot of progress and hope that by Monday Ill be fully back. Nasal passages have been fully clear (having a big nose is handy!) and Ive been able to breathe, though not deeply, without coughing much. Since I take next to no meds, when I have to take any, they just about wipe out my brain and leave whats left fog bound. I understand why they warn about operating equipment! So I wait until the last dose has run down, make a slow and cautious jaunt to town for necessities. Will do so soon, then take todays dose. Mary Jo seems to have reached another plateau and cant seem to gain physical strength to take her to the next level. I soon should be able to do the exercises with her more consistently, which should help. Ill hope to be in touch more frequently. Please vote Tuesday. The future of our republic could well be hanging in the balance.
