***Cup Final wrap*** Headhunters became the first Div 1 team to win the BWS Cup, after stunning favourites Scouser’s by 2-1. The underdogs open the scoring in just the 7’ via a Calderon strike, then De Santos added a second in the 36’ to leave the League champs in tatters trailing 0-2. But Scouser’s quickly regrouped and hit back with a Vasic PK just before HT to pull within a goal. In the second half though, it was Headhunters who continued the onslaught winning both possessions and shot counts. However, they could not breach Scouser’s defense anymore. Likewise for Scouser’s, who also couldn’t score more as two missed PK’s ultimately proved costly. In the end, Headhunters hung on to win by 2-1 to clinch their first trophy of any kind in the PL, and thereby shattered Scouser’s dream of a double.
