Or do you strongly dislike hoppy beers, and think Brussels sprouts are disgusting? If its the latter, then chances are you have a sensitive version of receptor gene TAS2R38. A quarter of the population has this version of TAS2R38, which alerts the brain quickly if something tastes at all bitter. Unfortunately, this sensitivity leads to an aversion to bitter foods, and a serious decrease in vegetable consumption. Folks who dont have a sensitive TAS2R38 consume on average 200 more servings of veggies every year! So if you like a nice hoppy pale ale, then you should enjoy those sweet tasting kale salads.
