I&B Ministry Institutes New Centenary Award to honour personalities for contribution to Indian Cinema. The award would be given annually at International Film Festival of India (IFFI). 3. The Competition Commission of India penalizes Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association Rs 41,393. The ruling has come in the wake of Reliance Big Entertainment complaint against the association for indulging in unfair pactices regarding release of Osthe, the Tamil remake of Dabbang. 4. RBI opens doors to foreign banks to operate in India through mergers and acquisitions with few regulations. 5. The government appointed Prem Narain as the Secretary of Overseas Indian Affairs Ministry replacing Rajiv Mehrishi. Jammu and Kashmir Bank extends the tenure of Mushtaq Ahmad as its Chairman and CEO for another 3 years. 10. India slips three places to 134 (from last years 131) in a list of 189 countries in the Ease-of-Doing-Business ranking (2014) published by World Bank while Singapore tops the list followed by Hong Kong and New Zealand.
