Forecast for today, Monday 7 July: Showers or longer spells of rain this morning, mostly over west Ulster, Connacht and Munster. Drier elsewhere with some bright spells. Generally showery this afternoon, with some heavy or possibly thundery ones in places, but some sunny spells also. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius with light southwest breezes. Todays Sunburn Index: Moderate countrywide. Todays Pollen count: Moderate in Munster, Dublin & Leinster. Low in Connacht & Ulster. Tonight: Tonight will be mainly dry in the east and south. However, showers will continue in the west and north. A band of showers will spread eastwards overnight. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow, Tuesday: Tuesday will bring a mix of bright or sunny spells and scattered showers, some heavy in the east. Theyll mostly die out in the evening. Highest temperatures of 15 to 18 degrees Celsius with moderate to fresh northwest breezes. Tuesday night will be mainly dry with clear spells and lowest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees Celsius. Wednesday: Wednesday will be dry over the eastern half of the country with sunny spells. However, rain and drizzle will develop in the west during the day and will spread slowly eastwards in the late afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees Celsius with mostly light westerly breezes. Thursday: Thursday will be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of light rain or drizzle. Rainfall amounts will be small and there will be some bright intervals in places. It will be mild and humid with highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees Celsius and light west to northwest breezes. Friday: Friday will bring a mix of cloudy periods and sunny breaks. At the moment it looks like being mainly dry with bright or sunny spell and just a few showers. Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees Celsius with light breezes. Saturday/Sunday: Current indications suggest that Saturday will be mostly cloudy with rain or drizzle spreading eastwards across the country, while Sunday will be mainly dry with sunny spells and just a few showers. Temperatures will range from about 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.
