Current Political Situation in Nigeria: My Opinion... Honestly I am so confused that, I do not know if I am actually more worried than confused because of the happenings in the Nigerian Political space, by the political class. Why am I worried you may ask? I am very worried because of the spate of lies by Supposedly Highly Responsible Men, who are Role Models, Mentors, Religious Leaders and Parents, who are earnestly romancing the populace seeking their mandates to manage our common wealth. I am worried that the spate of lies by our politicians in the name of politics is capable of confusing even the Devil to believe he is a Saint. How can we explain clear cases of politicians entrusted with projects that will benefit the masses, but decided to enrich themselves to the detriment of the people, and yet they come out and tell us, it wasn’t so?…… An overview of some of these cases, keeps me confused; - I read of the case of an Independent Power Project in Delta State which has been swept under the carpet, yet we are being told “We Believe” - I read of the case of another Power Project of about N5billion involving a House of Rep member during OBJ’s administration, and yet we are being wooed to Vote him as Governor - I also read of a former Minister who grounded Universities & Polytechnics for months, but wants to Govern a State - I also read of a former Aviation Minister concerning Bullet proof cars, contesting for Senatorial Seat….Please, what kind of laws do we expect? - The media is also a-washed with news of some incumbent State Executives who are eager to be called Distinguished Senators, but cannot pay workers in their states and nothing to show after 8 years of incumbency…….. - Recently I was jolted when I head on TV our Oga at the top saying “Stealing is erroneously reported as corruption”, meaning Stealing is not corruption…. Please, if stealing is not corruption, what then is it? - The judiciary (hope of the elite and not the common man) seem to have become worse off than the politicians….. or how can we explain 21years jail term for a phone thief, and 6 months jail term for one who embezzled Billions of Naira? - What of those who told us that only failures repeat same class, but are now repeating same class without much to show for it now? - Another worrisome issue is when you are not in the ruling party; our anti-corruption agencies will make you the headline of dailies, but will drop all charges once you cross carpet to the ruling party….haba, wetin dey happen? - Only in Nigeria will the best Mathematicians look stupid….. because Politically, 16 is greater than 19 (governors forum), 6 is greater than 18 (Rivers & Ekiti States houses of Assembly), - Another case is the spending of N10bilion globetrotting in private aircraft by fine face minister and yet she is still in-charge of Nigeria’s Honeypot……hmmmmm, who knows if we still have any honey left in the pot? - I recently traveled around the East and discovered most of the federal roads are death traps, and yet the Igbo leaders are giving GEJ 100% support, while those who are against his government are getting 100% of his attention…..haba, are the Igbo leaders mere sycophants? - Ok, as if all these are not enough, how come the leader of the dreaded insurgent group has been killed twice, and yet he still appears in recent videos….is he a cat with 9 lives? - Finally, only in Nigeria will you find majority of the masses addressing an incumbent as clueless, weak and badluck (during fuel subsidy removal) only to start supporting same clueless supposed badluck for another term in office…… Political Confusion The list is endless…… In my Opinion, I strongly believe that if the Devil is given an opportunity to join a Political Party in Nigeria, he would be so confused, because only in Nigeria will you find greater liars than the Devil himself……….. This is my Opinion and I believe it is the Opinion of Millions of other Nigerians…… This confusion will stop, only if we can stand firm to protect our mandates, by voting for credible individuals and not party candidates.
