Sad news to report. Oliver was a sweet guy we took into our rescue when we first started almost 3 years ago. At that time he was 15.5 years old. We have loved this guy since the day he was brought to our rescue. He was brought to us because his owner had died & no one in the family could take him in. He just had the sweetest, most gentle way about him. He was the first senior we had taken in & he is the one that really made us love & appreciate these older ones. He was adopted & sadly came back to us when his owner could no longer care for him. We always take our animals back- no matter the reason. Two weeks ago I (Gretchen) decided to bring him home & welcome him into our household. He was doing fine at the rescue but had really started to slow down & we wanted him to have a real family for the Holidays When I brought him home he became my little shadow & was loving all the perks of a spoiled house cat. He got along with all the dogs & other cats her. He slept curled up next to me every night. I felt so blessed to have him in our lives! I went into my room after making brunch on Christmas & Oliver was laying there on my pjs. I picked him up & he was barely breathing- I wrapped him in my pjs & laid him on my chest- he looked into my eyes- took one deep breath & passed away. Just like that. So- feeling sad but he knew SO much love. He didnt die alone, he has a family & friends that are missing him terribly.We are so happy he was surrounded by love when he left this earth. Run free sweet boy! We all love you!
