Argungu Attack: 2 Dead, 4 Hospitalised Yahya Sarki — March 15, 2014 Two people were killed and four others injured on Thursday as three gunmen openned fire near a motor park in Argungu, Argungu local government area of Kebbi State. One of the victim, was a recently promoted police Sergent, Mr. Umar Bala. The incident occured at about 7: 30 pm. The gunmen first openned fire on Bala. When the sound of their AK-47 rifle attracted the attention of the people nearby, the gunmen indiscriminately opened fire on the scene, hitting four people in the process. Chief Nursing Officer of Argungu General Hospital, Mohammed Bello Kaoje, confirmed the casualty figures to LEADERSHIP Weekend. Kaoje disclosed that one of the gunmen was arrested after he was hit by a car driven by one Isah Dantagago in the course of fleeing the scene. However, Dantagago was shot and killed by the other gunmen who then fled the scene leaving their accomplice behind. One of the hospitalised victims of the gunshot Haliru Isah narrated how he was shot: “As I was coming on the road, I saw an accident scene, not knowing that those were the gunmen and that one of them had been hit by a car and had sustained a fracture on the leg. The others suddenly open fire on me and the next thing I know was that I was in the hospital.”
