Current Position Openings and Role Descriptions: I. Multimedia Specialist As the multimedia specialist, you will be telling UBC Golden Key’s story through photographing events and creating other visual content (i.e. videos, infographics, posters). The roles and responsibilities of the Multimedia Specialist are as follows: • Attend executive meetings and photograph/record UBC GK hosted events on a regular basis • Work closely with the creative marketing director • Post multimedia & announcements on Facebook and onto various social networking channels • Assist with the production of PowerPoint presentations for the NMRE and other major GK events • Report to the Vice President Media and collaborate with the marketing team II. Technology Director As the technology director, you will be responsible for the administration and optimization of the UBC Golden Key website. Working with the Vice President Media, you will be keeping the website up-to-date to communicate information for members and the general community. The roles and responsibilities of the Technology Director are as follows: • Updating and improving the content and design of the UBC Golden Key website • Collecting information from Events Reporting Director to update website • Liaising with the Golden Key headquarters on content management • Working with creative marketing directors to increase presence on web • Reporting to Vice President Media III. Events Reporting Director As the Events Reporting Director, you will be responsible for attending and documenting Golden Key events for the Vice President Media. Your summaries will be used to inform students about Golden Key events (website content), measure the success of events, and for internal use and review. The roles and responsibilities of the Events Reporting Director are as follows: • Recording relevant data about each event (i.e. number of attendees, feedback, key points) • Attending events and executive meetings to facilitate planning based on prior events • Reporting event summaries to Vice President Media to update website IV. Sponsorship Director As the sponsorship director, you will be responsible for researching, obtaining, and maintaining relationships with sponsors for UBC Golden Key initiatives. By securing sponsorships, you will be providing the chapter with resources that will benefit its members and the wider community. The roles and responsibilities of the Sponsorship Directors are as follows: • Researching key potential sponsors in Vancouver and beyond • Recruiting a committee of volunteers to approach organizations and obtain resources • Attending events and following-up with sponsors • Reporting to the Vice President Sponsorship V. Fundraising Director Have you ever conducted a bake sale or car wash to raise money for charity? Whether you have or not, this is your opportunity to run service projects that raise money for good causes. The fundraising director plans and manages fundraising events for the UBC Golden Key chapter. The roles and responsibilities of the Fundraising Director are as follows: • Planning, implementing, and leading fundraising projects that give back to the community • Recruiting a committee of volunteers to help operate fundraisers • Managing events • Liaising with the creative marketing director to improve awareness and participation • Reporting to the Vice President Sponsorship VI. Vice President Public Relations As the Vice President Public Relations, you will be managing the PR team to ensure effective communications both internally and externally to relevant stakeholders. You will be overseeing chapter reports, website content, grant requests, and event documentation. The roles and responsibilities of the Vice President Public Relations are as follows: • Manages Chief Technical Writer and Communications Director and their committees • Ensures effective and timely delivery of external-facing reports (i.e. grants, venue requests) • Drafts and edits chapter reports and summaries for Golden Key Headquarters • Utilizes event information from the Events Reporting Director to generate positive publicity • Collaborates with other committees to deliver large scale events • Reports to co-presidents and attends executive meetings VII. Chief Technical Writer If you are an individual with strong technical writing skills and attention to detail, UBC Golden Key has the perfect position for you. As the chief technical writer, you will help secure thousands of dollars in funding, aid in starting new chapters in Western Canada, and help ensure efficient operations of the chapter. The roles and responsibilities of the Chief Technical Writer are as follows: • Drafting and editing chapter reports and scholarships • Working with the Media team to post events on the GK and UBC Golden Key website • Documenting events for website and chapter reports VIII. Communications Director As the communications director, you will be working closely with the marketing team to promote Golden Key events, and to answer inquiries from members. Reporting to the Vice President Public Relations, you will be sending relevant information and updates to members throughout the year. The roles and responsibilities of the Communications Director are as follows: • Recruiting and leading a communications committee • Promoting the Golden Key brand at events throughout the year • Answering inquiries from members • Assisting events directors to execute successful programs like the UBC Golden Key Tri-Mentoring IX. Academic Relations Director As the academic relations director, you will be heading the communications with universities in the Greater Vancouver region. The roles and responsibilities of the Academic Relations Director are as follows: • Communicating with university administration regarding graduate student program • Organizing year events in which alumni, students, and exec members can network • Securing new chapter advisors • Promoting Golden Key through classroom announcements (verbally, PowerPoint slides, videos, and more) • Build connections with key leaders in society and help promote key organizations at events
