Cyber-wellness tip: Netiquette (Internet Etiquette) Encourage your child to have good social manners online by being courteous, polite and respectful to other users. Set house rules on how your child should communicate online such as: - Always respond politely by not calling others names or insulting others - Refrain from typing full messages or words in capital letters with many exclamation marks - Use strong colours such as red, or text in bold only when necessary - Use emoticons to soften tone of messages - Refrain from responding to nasty messages Also, teach your child to be patient when waiting for replies and advise him or her to refrain from forwarding spam email or sending multiple messages to others online.
