Cycle 1: Day14 September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month. The colour is Gold. Please consider going Gold this month. Wear a gold ribbon or consider making a donation to childhood cancer research foundation. (weve listed some in the gold ribbon picture). We are still in hospital and have no idea when well be able to go home. His fever has been high this whole time, add diarrhea to that and he has a very very sore bottom. Were not sure what kind of infection he has other than mucosities from the chemo. He is strong however, and often pulls out his NGT (nasogastric tube), even after 3 times. Its traumatising for him, he choked up blood the last time. So we decided to let him be, even though he isnt eating anything. He does take to breastfeeding though and so far, that is the only form nutrients he is getting. Im glad I didnt wean him earlier. He is under a lot of discomfort and distress, the only thing that seems to make him smile is looking at the videos we took of him in Florida. Please continue to uphold him in prayer and positive thoughts and for his neutrophils to climb up from zero to a healthy level. We are grateful to the people around us : A kind lady, who is a radiologist, read about Edrics ordeal from this page, dropped by to give Edric a very special nappy cream that is unavailable in Australia. Edric received a beautiful electric train set from another sweet lady I have never met. Edric will be thrilled when he gets home. Friends who sent yummy home-cooked dinners to the hospital for us. Thank you, everyone one of you. It has been an ordeal, the last two weeks but these gestures of kindness warms my heart.
