D-A-Y R-O-B-B-E-R-Y!!! Just yestaday, after I had barely woken from bed. I had to go through the war of getting a cab down to school. With God on my side, I managed to get myself a seat in a 5-seater cab from Iyana-Oloke. Ordinarily, the fare goes for #30. But, on getting to the school gate, the driver demanded that we pay our bill, which we did as usual. To my dismay, he demanded we pay #40. Immediately, we all raised alarm and he had no option but to settle for our need. At last, we all paid #30 each. This morning again, the same repeated itself, not until I, together with some progressives- VOICED OUT. Meanwhile, I have come to undastand the fact that this act has become part of the cab drivers. And if proper action is not taken, it will continue like that. #MY_POSITION The fact that we are having transportation challenges should not for whatsoever reason open us for extortion. Unnecessary and incessant increase in our fare is INHUMAN and UNCALLED FOR. If we could as students(5 in number) resist the increase proposal made by the driver on that fateful day, you can! As Martin luther king once asserted, our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter. Let me implore you all to resist all forms of injustice, as we continue to look foward to the MAPOLY of our dreams.
