Thanks for being so passionate about this everyone, it’s really good for the drum to know you care about this kind of stuff. Just to put something firmly to bed, this was not a personality clash between me and anyone. I’ve been reading everything that everyone has written here for the past 24hrs and a few posts on other peoples timelines as I see them. I have read many assumptions and attempts at joining the dots. I’ve also received many many private messages, thank you. This is something that I have agonised over for more than 6 months, it’s not a new thing. I read my recent action described somewhere as ‘using a sledgehammer to crack a nut’, that’s supremely ironic because that’s what got us here. The site that bodojo has become is a million miles from how things were on the original Bodojo site forum - the good days, right? The admin team was made up of individuals with a mix of skills, knowledge and abilities and was very strong conceptually. It was withdrawn because there was no clarity and lots of confusion surrounding the role of an admin. The job description is 1. Keep spammers out, and 2. Keep us drifting too far off topic, with a minor in faciilitating new members, saying Hi and all that. I have received numerous personal messages over the past months complaining about some Admin conduct. Not just from those involved in a dispute but from ordinary members, bystanders and long time friends of Bodojo who just didnt like what they were seeing. As Mossie said, the recent events with Ronnie and the fall out from that, which I saw start to extend beyond bodojo, were the last straws in already difficult scenario. We were in a hole and getting deeper, No longer was Bodojo the helpful, friendly community for enthusiasts, it had become an aggressive and challenging place where alternate opinions were not just challenged and discussed, but blown out of the water. We were losing members because of it, many people were afraid to participate. That’s not the way it’s supposed to be RE Mossie leaving, he did it of his own free will within about 10 mins of me removing admins. I was surprised, am puzzled and it seems extreme to be honest, as does his comment “… i have a life time of a reputation that i dont need tarred like this”. umm like what? This was a situational response, not a personal affront. Thank you all for your support of Bodojo and for the admin team. They have worked very hard in many guises for many years on Bodojo the site before the hack and again more recently here on Facebook when I haven’t been about as much as before. I am so privileged to have had each person’s input into the site and forum. Yes I would like to see an admin team back here on Bodojo but I need to work out how do that and how bodojo can learn from scenarios past. This for me is a recalibration of Bodojo, a taking of stock and a pressing of the reset button if you will. I will never be sure if it was the right decision but there was action needed and I’ll live with the consequences whatever they may be. For me I only know that Bodojo is about serving a community, always has been, always will be…. We weren’t doing that. Thanks
