D/President Ruto on the SPOT as Kalenjin DIE of HUNGER in Baringo, as Uhuru donates Millions to AU ! William Ruto is on the spot as hunger strikes his backyard while his boss Uhuru Kenyatta donating millions to Africa Union. Four elderly people are reportedly dead in Kositei area in East Pokot sub-County and more than 180,000 others are in dire need of emergency food relief as hunger bites arid parts of Baringo County. Ruto who promised Kalenjins heaven on earth in the ran up to the March 2013 general elections has so far performed dismally since his friend “willing buyer” Uhuru Kenyatta assumed power in a disputed election that was largely rigged and allegations of intimidation on supreme court judges who presided over the presidential petition raging. Ruto who became a star in matters agriculture when he was appointed by Raila Odinga to serve as the minister for Agriculture in the grand coalition government peddled his performance to unsuspecting Kalenjins who voted Uhuru overwhelmingly only to be abandoned to die of hunger. It is not just un addressed hunger needs in the area but also high levels of unemployment, rising poverty levels among other ills that are not exclusive to the area. Back to Baringo the home county of the 24 year dictator Daniel Moi, the villages affected include Ripkwo, Kositei, Ameyan, Katikit and other parts in Silale such as Naudo, Riong’o, Natan which are the worst hit. Area chief Jackson Roruney named the diseased as; Ritee Kadipoo, Chepachikwa Limasia, Longuratome Lokorwa and one Ptura Akatomoi from Katikit all aged between 60 and 70 years old lost lives due to lack of food. The chief said that many locals are at risk of dying of hunger-related incidences as the number of people in need of food has hit the ceiling following harsh weather. “Several other people especially the aging, women and children are helpless and most of them have been left alone in their houses as the able members of the families look for water and food and the death toll might rise if no action is urgently done to save the situation,“ said Roruney
