DAILY LIFE CAPSULE MONDAY, OCTOBER 28, 2014 HE KNEW EGYPT WAS HIS TEMPORAL HOME Isaac & Theresa Brown Hebrews 11:22 By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones (KJV) Joseph developed and lived his whole life in Egypt and it could have been easy to forget his real home country. However Joseph always remembered his home country and had faith that they would return home one day. He said in Genesis 50:24-25, “..... God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely visit you, and ye shall carry up my bones from hence.” With this mindset, he lived in Egypt as a Jew knowing and worshipping Jehovah, the God of his fathers. He could not be contaminated with the lifestyle in Egypt as long as he lived in that consciousness. Our challenge has been with our mindset of where we belong. The truth is that we don’t belong here. We are here for the sake of the men here who are our brethren, but lost from home. We are here to help them relocate their real home country. Jesus said in John 15:19, If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.” As Joseph was not of Egypt, but lived in Egypt, so are we not of the World, but live in the World. Our consciousness must be that of living the culture of Heaven in the world. We are ambassadors for Christ. We represent Christ in the world. From the scripture above, we were chosen out of the world. As long as Joseph lived not according to the demands of Egypt, he had challenges, but it was a matter of time. Jesus said the world will hate you, because you are not of the world. He did not say the world will rule over you. The world hates us, but we reign. 1John5:4, “whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” We live by faith and overcome by faith. Confession: Thank you Jesus! I know my permanent home! I live in Zion, the city of the living God! I am not of this world! I function here, but not from here! I demonstrate power here, but my power is not of here! I was born an overcomer! I overcame to overcome! I reign! Hallelujah!
