The purpose of the AEMTA Emergency Support Response Team (ESRT) is to assist any agency, community, county, or state in an event of overwhelming of resources should occur. ESRT will support the local response plan as outlined or requested by The Incident Commander of any incident. Assistance and/or support may include but not limited to search and rescue, staging/treatment areas, road way clearance, strategic support, recovery efforts, etc. The AEMTA/ESRT will not assume responsibility or command of any incident at any time. It is the AEMTA’s intent to assist and support local and state agencies in their time of need. All requests for an ESRT response will be made to the AEMTA President, ESRT Commander, or his/her designee. Request can be made or rescinded by Arkansas Depart of Health, Section of EMS, Arkansas Department of Emergency Management, Ambulance Service Director, or the Incident Commander of an individual incident. The ESRT will never self-deploy and will follow instructions of the overall incident commander or their designee.
