DAILY NOTICES – TUESDAY 8th APRIL – DAY 2 1. SPORTS ASSEMBLY: Please check the stadium notice board and Hall windows to see if you are required for the sports assembly today 2. ALL STUDENTS: Classes will finish at 12.30 Wednesday 9th April. Supervision is available in the Library for students that want to stay on at school. 3. LEVELS 1, 2 & 3 VISUAL ARTS & GRAPHICS STUDENTS – are you interested in going on an overnight trip to Wellington next term?? Come to a meeting in T3 TODAY at Interval – please see Ms Pittwood if you cannot make it. 4. YR 11, 12, 13 – STAR COURSES AT WITT – TERM 2 – Today is the last day to pick up permission letters for courses –If you have collected your letter it needs to be back to Whaea Kimiora by Wednesday this week (TOMORROW) at the latest… NO EXCEPTIONS... Students to collect and return letters are: Kayla Horgan, Aroha Glossop, Abby Hastings, Kelsey Smith, Gracyn Meredith, Breia Leggett, Ivy Armstrong, Jennifer Gunn, Brett Morrison, Jessica Tarrant, Zoe Schultz, Courtney Brown, Ruby Luke-Hurley, Summber Jeffrey, Tayla Mundt, Robyn Wright, Maddi O’Connor, Grace Lines, Selina Knight, Jemma Benton, Phoebe Chong, Billie Manley, Isabel Jury, Ashlee Turner, Brianna Williams, Erika-Lee Williamson, Nicole Cayzer, Miah Wilson. 5. MANDARIN CLUB: B13 Friday lunchtime. Final meeting for this term. Topic: revision of greetings, family tree and numbers 1-20. Bring your lunch. All welcome :) 6. MRS PARRY’S TUMANAKO GROUP: We will not be able to meet this Tuesday because of assembly, but we will catch up again in wk11. Come to B18 at Tutor time Tues 15th April and we will do some great games with balloons and I have replenished my chocolate supplies thanks to Ms Mac! 7. WORLD CHALLENGE – YR10 & YR11: Letters about World Challenge have been emailed home to all Yr10 and Yr11 parents. If you would like a hard copy of the letter to take home, please pick one up from outside student services. The reply slip should be returned by Friday 11th April (this week) and the meeting is at 6:30pm on Monday in the Yr 13 study. 8. ICAS SCIENCE COMPETITION: Test your science knowledge, open to all year levels, $8.50 entry fee due by the end of the term to Student Services. The assessment is not until the 4th June. Any questions see Mrs Hanover. 9. STAGE CHALLENGE: Mid-week Rehearsal 1:55-2:15pm. In the Dance studio. Monday – Soldiers, Tuesday – Cheer, Wednesday – Hoe down and Thursday – Spies and protests. 10. MAY TALENT SHOW – Kate McDonald, Bailey Butler, Ellie Heal and Tayla Hesseltine – Meeting N4 spell 5 TODAY, please. 11. DANCE COMMITTEE MEETING: Morning tea, Dance studio – all members required. 12. TALENT QUEST: Entries must be in by the end of week 11, so get them in early. Cash prizes are up for grabs!!! $10 tickets are being sold now at Student Services. 13. CAFÉ DUTY: The following girls are café duty this week. Morning tea: Sarah Avery, Grace Coomber, Georgia Whitehead. Lunch: Kaycee Mitchell, Rebecca Hey, Hannah Morgan, Reece Mason. 14. LIBRARY BOOKS: Please return all overdue library books. Be aware that there are waiting lists on some books. You may renew if you are still reading the book and no one is waiting to read it. 15. ALL: Overdue notices will be sent to tutor groups this week. Please make sure you have returned any books you have finished reading or that are overdue. 16. TOPEC – LOST PROPERTY: A red plastic bag (full of clothes), a black sleeping bag, a pair of sun glasses, and a black pair of shoes left behind at TOPEC last week. These items can be claimed at the Stadium, any queries, see Mr Cleaver. SPORTS 1. VOLLEYBALL - SENIORS: Girls who went to tournament - your gear bags and jackets + loaned gear is well OVERDUE for return. Please get these back into the sports dept. this week. We have other groups going out that need jackets. 2. VOLLEYBALL - JUNIORS: Year 9s who have been issued singles, jackets and gear bags for volleyball - these need to come back NOW to the Sports Dept. office. 3. BASKETBALL - JUNIOR A: The Junior A basketball team have their uniform issued TODAY at interval. You need your uniforms to be sorted for your tournament away this weekend - all girls travelling you are expected to collect your uniforms. 4. BASKETBALL - SENIOR B: The girls named in the Senior B basketball team - you have your uniform issue at interval WEDNESDAY with Ms. Murray. All girls need to attend. You will be getting your gearbags and jackets too. 5. BASKETBALL - JUNIOR B: Players of the Junior B basketball team - you have your uniform issue at interval WEDNESDAY this week. Your first game is Tuesday 22nd of April in the holidays so you need to be sorted with your uniform issue. See you in the Stadium with Ms. Murray at the beginning of interval on Wednesday. 6. NETBALL - RULES BRIEFING: Tuesday and Thursday lunchtimes this week we are running a netball rules class with Ms Eliason. All girls are needing to sit the umpiring theory test who are in GHS teams. Please make sure you turn up for one of these sessions. 7. SWIMMING: All girls interested in attending the TSSSA swimming championships need to come to a meeting in R2 at interval TODAY. If you can’t attend you need to see Miss Hurley before then. 8. WEDNESDAY BADMINTON: This will still be on this Wednesday (9th) but at the earlier time of 12:30pm 9. GYMNASTICS: This year the school will be holding a competition for all gymnasts, experienced and novice. Anyone can enter so give it a go!!! Details at the meeting. We also have the TSSSA Gymnastics later this year and for those who are more experienced the NZSS National Competition is happening in Auckland in early August. There is a meeting in B13 TODAY at lunchtime for all those who would like to find out more. Bring your lunch and Ms Blackwell will give you the details.
