DAILY READING - FRIDAY John 5 vv 12 -13 They asked him, “Who is this fellow who told you to pick up your mat and walk? “ The man who was healed had no idea who Jesus was, for Jesus had slipped away into the crowd that was there. vv 12 -13 Notice how the Jews addressed Jesus – This fellow – as if he had no significance – totally ignoring the miracle that had been performed on this man whom they must have all been familiar with, since he had been there for years! They are too busy comparing their rules with those from God. How often in the Christian church does Satan use this ruse to give mere men, the audacity to make their rules sound divine? v13 too is interesting and quite strange – the man had no idea who Jesus was and yet he was healed. Does not this give us hope as we pray for those we know, to come to Jesus and find healing and forgiveness? Prayer – Lord Jesus, help me never to doubt your power to reach out and speak to those who do not as yet, acknowledge your sovereignty and power.
