DAILY READING - SUNDAY John 4:46-54 54 This was the second miraculous sign Jesus did in Galilee after coming from Judea. This miracle was really a sign to all people! John’s gospel was intended for all mankind to urge faith in Jesus. The official had faith … then saw a miracle happen. He not only believed, he also obeyed; it is not enough for us to just believe, we need to act on this belief accordingly. When we pray, we should live as though we believe Jesus can help us. Although the official’s son was twenty miles away, distance was no object as Jesus has mastery over space. We can never put so much space between us and Jesus that he can no longer help us! Irrespective of the different situations we find ourselves in, may we find the strength and courage each day to seek God’s kingdom first; to put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour. “For I know the plans I have for you”, declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
