"DATA MINING" YOUR CHILDREN: Through the stimulus bill, Americans’ privacy has been increasingly compromised. Now, permission that once had to be granted by parents to Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) to release students’ data has changed with a January 2012 regulation mandating that ALL information collected by schools since 2009 can be shared among federal agencies without consent. It had been declared by law that no school could transfer any information on children without written consent of the parent. No more with Common Core and the Stimulus Package. And it is retroactive.
